Hello,
Sorry for the delay in getting the confirmed dates and times organised;
getting the kit (and requisite optics) in and tested took a little longer
than intended.
We will be carrying out the works to swap out the faulty sw0.the.core as
previously advised (see:
http://mail.status.lchost.co.uk/pipermail/lchannounce_status.lchost.co.uk/20
07-September/000058.html ) during the following window:
COMMENCES 00:01 28/09/07
ENDS 03:00 28/09/07
Actual outage is not expected to be longer than 30 minutes or so, as the
replacement switch is already configured, but swapping the hardware is
likely to be somewhat fiddly. The window permits for any unexpected
eventualities to be dealt with.
Further, in addition to these works, it has been decided to schedule a
second window to perform additional network restructuring works:
COMMENCES 00:01 29/09/07
ENDS 03:00 29/09/07
This work will affect all customers who are in the cabinet TFM40 A11 ONLY.
CAS1, which connects clients in this rack, will be reconnected to the
network directly into RT0 at 1Gbps with a second fibre pair available for
future growth or as a spare. Outage is not expected to be longer than
approximately 2 minutes for this work to take place, as all the fibre,
optics, and vlans will be preconfigured before the changeover, and all
relevant forwarding tables will be flushed immediately upon completion which
should restore service very quickly indeed.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during these necessary
works.
As always, if your service should not return by the end of the window,
please call the new emergency extension on our switchboard - 020 30 26 26 26
/ 0870 068 4678 [these numbers are delivered over different carriers - if
one does not work, try the other] - press 9 at the voice menu (this option
is NOT announced) and you will be directly connected to an engineer. Please
do not use this extension for anything other than emergencies (EG: Service
down).
Regards,
