Hi,

We have replaced maelstrom and cloud0's SSL certificate (primarily used in
conjunction with the mail services, eg POP3, IMAP, SMTP) with ones that
should be trusted by most software "out of the box", with difference to the
CACert.org certificates we were using previously. With this change we hope
to encourage further users to switch to using SSL encrypted varieties of the
services we offer in order to decrease the risk of your accounts being
compromised.

Below you will find notes relevant to the changes on each server.

CLOUD0 USERS:
You will need to ensure you use the hostname cloud0.lchost.co.uk for
collecting POP3, IMAP or sending SMTP to avoid any potential errors or
warnings about the hostname not matching the certificate hostname.

Additionally, the Vexim E-Mail control panel & squirrelmail webmail client
will be moved under the new SSL secured HTTP virtualhost
https://cloud0.lchost.co.uk - we have already made the roundcube webmail
client available at https://cloud0.lchost.co.uk/webmail - please test it and
report any issues with it to our support department. We will maintain a
Squirrelmail installation for users who prefer Squirrelmail, however we
expect most users will prefer to switch over to RoundCube which not only
looks significantly better but utilises advanced web technologies to support
drag-and-drop functions, etc. to better emulate a regular mail client.

In the near future, we plan to map www.yourdomain.com/webmail/ to redirect
you to the https://cloud0.lchost.co.uk/webmail/ address automatically -
preventing you from having to remember the cloud0 address. If you would
rather that this redirection not be put in place on your domain (eg: you
presently already have a webmail directory on your site), please let us
know.

MAELSTROM USERS:
If you are presently using the hostname 'mail.lchost.co.uk' (as many of you
will be - the old SSL certificate was for mail.lchost.co.uk) to collect your
POP3 mail, please change this to 'maelstrom.lchost.co.uk' in order to avoid
any potential errors or warnings about the hostname not matching the
certificate hostname.

If you have any queries or require directions on how to enable SSL in your
mail client, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our support
department, at support at lchost.co.uk

Regards,
Phillip Baker
