[LCH Announce] Network upgrade news

Hello,

It is looking increasingly likely that we will be putting our money
where our mouth is next week and placing an order for a new cisco
catalyst 6500 series switch, which despite it's name also makes an
excellent router when equipped with the SUP720-3BXL supervisor blade
that we will be purchasing for it.

It's going to put a few bits and pieces back on the purchase list, but
we believe it is nonetheless worth displacing the other items on the
list (the replacement servers for cloud0 are unfortunately now on the 
backburner for a little while until the funds are available - we are 
monitoring cloud0 closely and it is far from critical at this time)

We are confident that this should boost our routing capacity at least
20-fold and should kill all of my concerns with us operating so near to
capacity on the routing platform (due mostly to the increase in gaming
traffic on our network).

We will keep you posted on the process of the equipment and give you an
installation date as soon as we know the timescale for the arrival of
the kit - we will be keen for obvious reasons to get the kit live as
soon as possible after some burn in testing.
