Hello,

Apologies for the delay in getting this announcement out.

I can now confirm that the renumbering itself will take place on Saturday
the 25th of September between the hours of 9 and 11 am. Each machine should
only be off for a few minutes before reappearing on its new IP Addresses (as
shown in the IP changeover schedule to be published in the next 24 hours).

ns0.lchost.net and ns2.lchost.net will remain to serve DNS requests on their
old IP Addresses for upto 3 months and all records we can find in the DNS
zone hosted on those DNS servers (as well as ns1.lchost.net in canada) will
be updated to reflect new IP addresses of machines. New nameserver addresses
will be published to the list in due course.

Customers who require a dynamic hostname (to allow websites etc to switch
over to the new IP in a much shorter time) should contact me directly to
arrange to have one allocated to you and have the instructions for use
forwarded to you.

We will also require all customers who have unmanaged dedicated servers and
who colocate to either setup their new IP addresses as extra virtual
interfaces or contact us with their root user details so that we can change
your IP on your behalf. If we do not have contact from you by the end of
Friday and determine that the new IP addresses are not bound to your system
we will if possible (if your bootloader configuration allows) break into
your system (non-destructively) on Saturday to perform the change for you,
but obviously we would prefer not to have to do this whenever possible.

Please note that this only affects LCHost customers on the 213.230.205.0/24
netblock, and not Tetracite Ltd customers who share the same netblock at
present.
