Hello all,
Customers on the 213.230.205.0/24 network allocation will have experienced a
number of short outages this evening followed by a longer one of
approximately half an hour.
This was caused by another customers unannounced maintenance work that ended
up directly impacting service delivered to this netblock.
As a result of this outage and to prevent further similar outage occurring
again it has become clear that we will need to segregate the customers we
have on the .205.x block out onto another netblock. This unfortunately means
you will need to renumber your equipment and we will have a contingency plan
for people running mission critical services in order to keep downtime
during the change over to a minimum.
As part of this change of address, a new seperate network feed from our core
network will be coming into the cabinet you are housed in which will be used
solely to serve you. Bandwidth to this new network segment will be improved
upon compared to the segment you will be moving away from.
A full announcement will be made to this list on Monday with scheduled dates
for the changes to take place, and a further announcement by Wednesday will
include a full breakdown of how IP Addresses will be changing.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me
immediately on +44 (0)7793 22 80 80 and I will answer them promptly.
We apologise for any and all inconvenience the unfortunate outage this
evening may have caused, and apologise in advance for any inconvenience the
renumbering will cause. We will of course work with yourselves to keep
trouble and downtime to a minimum wherever possible.
Kind Regards,
Phillip Baker
