Hi,

Current network issues which have started around 00:20 this morning are
at first glance due to peering networks such as LINX, XPE and LIPEX
being affected by a power outage in Redbus Harbour Exchange on the 8th
and 9th floors.

This poweroutage caused widescale disruption to peering sessions between
peers on most Internet Exchanges and resulted in some customers having
difficulties accessing our network, though many will have been
unaffected. As BGP sessions dropped routes being utilised will have
disappeared causing problems until alternate paths were found and
utilised; though some ISPs may remain completely unable to reach our
network until the affected exchanges and peering sessions are restored.

I must stress that these problems are completely out of our hands and
will no doubt be resolved slowly as peering comes back up over the next
few hours as equipment is brought back online at the affected exchanges.
As none of our equipment is colocated within any Redbus facility the
outage has had no direct impact on our network or our network links to
our upstream transit providers, rather it is they whom have been
affected by the outages on the major peering exchanges.

We will keep you posted if we learn any more.
